About the Course
Unit G1 enables you to identify potential hazards in a salon to ensure that your own actions reduce risks to health and safety. You will also research the relevant legislation and its impact on the industry.
Unit G4 trains you to take charge of the reception area.
Unit G6 develops your ability to promote additional products or services to clients in order to increase revenue in a beauty salon.
Unit G8 shows you the skills needed to work as part of a team, enabling you to develop and maintain your effectiveness at work. This will involve participation in community projects.
Unit BT4 deals with improving and maintaining facial skin condition. You will learn to plan and perform facial treatments according to the skin types of individual clients.
Unit BT5 teaches you techniques to enhance the eyes, including lash and brow tinting, brow shaping, lash perming and false lashes.
Unit BT6 teaches you waxing techniques used in the temporary removal of body hair.
Unit BT7 will help you to improve the condition of hands and nails using a variety of manicure treatments.
Unit BT8 helps you to improve the condition of the feet using pedicure treatment.
Unit BT9 will teach the skills needed to provide make up treatments suitable for day, evening and bridal occasions and will also cover corrective techniques.
Course Aims
This course begins to develop the practical skills and levels of understanding that will be expected of you as a modern therapist. It also aims to improve your communication and IT skills to meet current standards in a working environment and to develop your awareness of business costing.

Orally - 5%
Practical salon based tasks - 80%
Written assignment - 15% examinations for each unit.
Fees
No Course Fees for Under 19's. Over 19's must pay, or claim Level 2 or Level 3 Entitlement for FREE courses .
