2. Course description During this one-year course you will learn all about client communication, health and safety practices in the workplace, and general reception and salon duties.  You will also gain in-depth training that focuses on practical techniques such as facial electrotherapy and body electrotherapy and massage.  There are also two further optional routes for you to choose from:  Option one: electrical epilation, microdermabrasion, and self tanning  Option two: microdermabrasion, Indian head massage and hot stone massage.  Offering a combination of practical and theoretical units, this course will ensure you are equipped with all the industry knowledge you need to further your career.  You will experience both classroom and industry environments that will test the skills you have acquired during the course. And with experienced teaching staff on hand for support and advice, you are sure to reach your full potential.

3. Entry requirements You must have the following:  • Level 2 Diploma in Beauty Therapy at Merit, plus GCSE English & Maths at grade A*-C & Science at D or above, or equivalent - Functional skills may be accepted in place of GCSE English and/or Maths  Students with previous experience may be considered. Students must also be in related employment for 2 days a week and must attend college for the further 3 days.  Adults 19+ who have industry experience BUT do not have the necessary qualifications can be invited in for interview. 4. Equipment required Where appropriate, any equipment required (e.g. protective clothing) will be discussed with you at interview/enrolment.
