The New TDF Diploma in the theory and practice of therapeutic drumming and rhythm work.A programme of nine modules organised in three groups. The nine modules are essential for those wishing to progress to a diploma. The content of the modules is of a practical and experiential nature with a minimum of didactic input. In order to gain a diploma a good deal of theoretical understanding will be required and this will be gained through individual study including guided reading outside of the modules.Group One: The field guide to therapeutic drummingThe modules in this group give a comprehensive introduction to Therapeutic Drumming and an overview of current theory and practice. Each of the modules will examine the connections between various aspects of the theory and will place an emphasis on one specific area.Module One: The therapeutic benefits of drumming and rhythm workModule Two: Drumming as communication in therapy.Module Three: Developing Practitioner reflexivity through drummingGroup Two: Theory and practiceThe modules in this group examine theory in detail and look at how it can be applied in practice.Module Four: The foundation theory of therapeutic drumming.Module Five: Effective group work Module Six: Applications of the foundation theory of therapeutic drumming.Group Three: Personal DevelopmentThe modules in this group give opportunities to experience directly the beneficial effects of drumming. They also demonstrate modes of practice which can be applied to a wide variety of settingsModule Seven: Drumming as Interpersonal ProcessModule Eight: Drumming in Guided ExplorationModule Nine: Drumming in Facilitated Development Group Work
