Programme Structure & Content
Courses are available at Levels 1 to 4. There is a non-accredited Honours degree in Behavioural Studies, delivered by the School of Psychology. Application for entry to Honours occurs at the end of second year, and depends upon passing the level 2 Psychology courses and obtaining sufficient credits in other disciplines. Students not continuing to Honours may complete the 3-year designated degree in Psychology.
First Year
There are lectures on:

- Developmental Psychology (human development from infancy to old age)
- Health Psychology
- Cognitive Psychology
- Perceptual Psychology
- Social Psychology
Second Year
There are lectures on:
- Ageing & Individual Differences
- Developmental Psychology
- Behavioural Neuroscience
- Cognition (modelling and explaining the higher abilities of the mind)
- Quantitative Methods (design of experiments and elementary statistics)
- Organizational Psychology
- Perception
- Social Psychology
Third & Fourth Year (Honours)
In third year, there are lectures and tutorials on:

In fourth year, students carry out and report an empirical investigation. They also select six options, currently from the following list:

- The Cognitive Neuroscience of Person Perception

Teaching & Assessment
Teaching is by means of lectures, workshops and tutorials, and library study. Assessment is by means of examination and continuous assessment.
Additional information
Career opportunities: Behavioural studies graduates have many employment opportunities (usually after postgraduate training) including psychology, counselling, educational psychology, ergonomics, forensic psychology, health psychology, and occupational psychology (some of these may require a BPS conversion course after graduation). Areas also benefiting from an understanding of the human mind and behaviour include careers in business, marketing, and advertising.
