Bereavement - Understanding Loss and Supporting Grief is a foundation training session designed to lead to a better understanding of the impact of different types of loss and bereavement, this course is useful for anyone who works with people receiving a care service.
Learning outcomes and objectives
- To understand the different types of loss, including bereavement.
- To have an understanding of the grief cycle as experienced by most people.
- To identify behaviour patterns which may be associated with the grieving process.
- To look at strategies for working with people who are grieving.
Relates to:
- Health and Social Care core NVQ units 226 and 384.
- Support Services in Health Care NVQ units SS3 and SS27.
- Common Induction Standards unit 3 (3.1.1 and 3.5.3).
Half day courses usually run from 9.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. / 1.00 p.m. to 4.00 p.m.
