The course provides the training in the legal background to this legislation, the importance and consequences of not serving alcohol to those under-age or those already drunk, as well as an understanding of best practice in all sectors of licensed retail. Suitable for: Staff authorised to sell alcohol.

Successful completion of the training programme and assessment will enable candidates to understand:

- Session 5 Recognising Drunkenness and your Duty not to serve
- Session 6 Dealing with Alcohol-Related Crime and Conflict
To achieve the BIIAB Level 1 Award in Responsible Alcohol Retailing candidates must attend a 1 day course concluding with a short exam of 25 multiple choice questions. The Exam is split into 2 halves and candidates must correctly answer 3 compulsory questions in order to pass the exam.
