Course programme

Core Modules:

Six core modules provide a solid grounding in this field. You will study the structure and function of the human body, and gain a basic understanding of biomedical technology. We cover the fundamental principles and applications of medical imaging and sensing – both body and brain; and explore Biomechanics and their implementation in the School of Engineering’s Gait Laboratory, utilising state-of-the-art motion capture. You can expect to learn from leading biomedical modelling practitioners, develop a broad base of signal processing techniques and will understand of the principles of modern design, maintenance and assessment of healthcare technologies by the end of the course.
