About this course
• Describe and assess key themes in the five featured films
• Assess the five featured films and the role of genre
• Assess the thematic, stylistic and cultural impact of the five featured films (and that of the modern American horror film generally)
• Assess a range of critical responses to these films and the modern American horror film generally.
You will require a pen and paper (or laptop/device) but the tutor will provide all other materials.
Screenings of extracts from films, talks by the tutor, reading materials, small and large group discussions. There will not be any work outside the class.
