Introduction to Film Directing Weekend Course

  • I have been on other film courses and though they were very good, I enjoyed the hands on aspect of this course from developing a critical eye for the art of film making to the short film segment where what had been learnt is put into practice. Students get to see a professionally edited copy of the film which further enhances learning. I found the course to be a great confidence booster for me and demystified the whole process of making a film. Course materials were adequate and the level was as I had expected and a little more.
I recommend Film Directing 4 Women as a course provider. If you are looking for a great support network of other women film-makers as well as greater confidence in your ability as a film director then this is the course for you. If you are a complete beginner and fresh to film-making and directing this course will suit you down to the ground. The course leader had the most amazing skill of leading us students to recognising our inate creativity, and encouraging enlightening discussion.

What could be improved: It was a bit cold during outdoor filming. I would have liked the course to last a lot longer, perhaps.
