Photography Tutor
Ben has ten years experience in freelance photography, covering all disciplines from weddings and music through to portraiture and still life. Over the past 2 years Ben has been working with Embrace, documenting the conservation work being done in Dulwich upper wood by volunteers. The last year and half Ben has been running photography workshops on behalf of Embrace, these have covered a variety of subject areas and skill sets.
Course programme
A series of bite size sessions on the most common digital photography questions. You can pick up individual sessions or come along to them all.

Focusing: 10am to 11am
The right focus is critical for every photo. In this workshop we will look at different methods of focusing and how the right focus can improve your photography. We will go beyond the full auto modes and explore semi manual and full manual modes.

Using different focusing to improve the picture.
White balance: 11:30am to 12:30pm
Have you ever taken a photo and then wondered why the colours look different from what you see? In this workshop we will be looking at improving your photos by using the right white balance for different conditions. We will look at how to get it right out in the field and also how to correct it later back on a computer.

Exposure: 1:30pm to 2:30pm
Do you leave your camera in auto mode? Now is the time to try out manual and take control of exposure. We will look at how you can achieve different effects through exposure settings to improve you photography.

Reading your histogram.
ISO: 3pm to 4pm
The mystery of digital photography. ISO has become one of the least understood functions on modern cameras, and in this workshop we will explore this setting in greater detail. We will look at what the values mean and when best to use the different values.

Using ISO to good effect.

The course will be run in the setting of Embrace Social Enterprises Ltd office in Brixton (Lambeth, London) and it is limited to 8 participants only, to provide plenty of quality tutor one to one time with participants. So please reserve your place as soon as possible as these workshops are always very popular and do not run often.
