I have been a trainer for 10 years. I train a variety of subjects, including security, licensing, first aid and teacher training. I have worked in the security industry for over 20 years, in various disciplines, including Close Protection, Door Supervision and as a CCTV operative. I utilise a variety of training techniques to ensure every learner feels included within the classroom environment.
Course programme
Course content:
The Paediatric First Aid Level 3 course is specifically designed for those with a responsibility for children. The most important difference between child and adult first aid is the technique used for resuscitation (airway, breathing and circulation) according to the Resuscitation Council (UK). The course also takes into account the common illnesses and injuries that can occur with children.
Content includes:
· The aims & principles of first aid.
· Anaphylaxis and use of an epi-pen.
· Head injuries.
· Meningitis and septicaemia.
· Sickle cell.
· Asthma.
· Bleeding (including nose bleeds).
· Burns.
· Choking.
· Fractures and soft tissue injuries.
· Management of the unconscious casualty.
· Basic life support (CPR).
· Other specific conditions.
