About this course

Materials needed to complete the projects is included in the cost but you might like to bring your own decorative papers and/or cloth to complete the work. Your tutor will be able to advise you on this.
The bindery is fully equipped with all tools and equipment needed for this short course.

Course programme
You will be introduced to construction techniques enabling you to make a clam shell box and Japanese box. Through the making of these structures you should be able to leave the course with a good working knowledge of the materials and techniques required to develop your box making skills for future projects.
This course is for beginners and those with some experience. You should be able to follow simple written and verbal instructions to support demonstrations, hand-outs and for health and safety information, and will be invited to take part in group discussion. You should be able to use numbers and be able to do simple measurements and calculations. Please look at the rest of the course outline carefully to decide if you may benefit from support in your English and Maths skills to help you to take part fully in this class.Additional information
