Course summary
Overview
Business Economics is a vibrant area of study, as it focuses on issues that impact on everyday life. This course will give you a sense of how important it is for businesses to understand 'the economy' in order to increase their chances of success. No prior knowledge of business or economics is needed to enrol on this course.

The course will assume that you have an interest in both business and economics, but no formal knowledge of either. It is designed to give you a solid basis in business and economics concepts, and to equip you with skills that will give you an edge in the Business Economics sector. You will learn about business and economics in a globalised world, study contemporary issues affecting these fields and develop the professional skills needed to embark on a rewarding career.

Why choose this course?
You will study diverse modules to help you find your specialism, so you can identify and work towards your career goals. There are options in a range of fascinating topics such as:
fashion business
urban economics
global markets
behavioural and happiness economics
real estate investment
Islamic finance.
There is the opportunity to choose between a dissertation and a capstone project in the final year, the latter of which includes industry visits to contextualise your learning in a practical manner.

This is a gateway course, which can launch your career in business economics without the need for a degree in a heavily mathematical subject.
