Overview
This course is for diploma registered nurses who wish to top-up to an honours degree. It has been designed for both home and international qualified nurses*.

It has been designed for students who have already achieved the following:
Diploma or HND in a health care/life science related area
Diploma in Nursing
Foundation degree in a healthcare related area eg: Healthcare. Physician's Assistant, Dental Nursing.
* Please note that completion of this course does not lead to NMC registration or give you the right to practice in the UK.

Entry requirements
Level 5 Nursing / Healthcare related qualification (120 credits at level 4 and 120 credits at level 5). International students need to meet our English language requirement at either IELTS at 6.0 or above and a minimum of 5.5 for each of the 4 individual components (Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening).

Course detail
This course has been designed for qualified nurses who wish to top-up their existing Diploma of Higher Education to a Degree. The course will prepare you to advance your knowledge in specific practice including:
nursing assessment of the cardiac, respiratory and renal functions
clinical diagnostic tools and their applications in nursing and healthcare practice
development of skills for nursing research and evidence based interventions
theories underpinning behaviour modification and delivery of high quality and safe healthcare.
The course will provide an exciting opportunity for students to meet peers who have studied a range of nursing topics both in the UK and overseas. It will be delivered by expert and skilled lecturers from the College of Nursing, Midwifery and Healthcare. The course is a theory based course and does not have any practical placements – it is therefore suitable for both nurses who are currently working but want to further develop their knowledge of nursing practice on a part time basis, and for those who wish to study full time.
Depending on the academic credit associated with your Diploma, you will enter the second or final year of the course.
