LEVEL 3 NVQ Certificate in British Sign Language – Part 1 LANGUAGE DEVELOPMENT

The course:

The course will develop your language skills using a variety of teaching styles.

• You will learn to use BSL at a more fluent and rich level, with more emphasis on deepening your linguistic skills.
• The course will include presentations, debating, discussions and conversations. We will introduce new language, build your receptive skills, and give continual feedback to you on your skills and progress. You will receive good advice on how to improve areas that need further work. This will help you to develop your signing skills and build your confidence at Level 3 standard.
• We use filming as an effective tool to help you to polish your skills to the desired level, and to show your progress throughout the course. It also gives you a background and understanding of the use of film clips, and what may be expected from an NVQ course should you wish to progress to this at a later stage.
• By the end of the course you will be able to participate in much deeper conversations on more natural topics such as relationships, Deaf media, current affairs, politics and everyday concerns and happiness.
• Successful completion of this course will be awarded with a Sign for Thoughts Certificate. You will have then have the option of applying to join the Part 2 - Portfolio building course: Level 3 NVQ Certificate in BSL*(accredited by Signature)

*NB on completion of this course, candidates wishing to progress onto NVQ 3 portfolio will be required to attend an interview
