This course provides the equivalent of 3 A Levels worth up to 420 UCAS points. You will study practical Science including optional Units. This will give you a very recognised qualification in Science allowing access to a wide variety of employment sectors and a wide variety of courses in higher education. Most universities accept BTEC qualifications for example the entry requirements for a Degree in Physiotherapy at Brighton University; Radiography at Bradford University; Speech Therapy at Manchester University; Adult Nursing at Bournemouth University; Environmental Science at Bournemouth and a wide range of other university courses.
Employers also value the BTEC Diploma for a variety of related careers for example Science Technician, Veterinary Nursing etc…
There are a fascinating range of practical techniques and experiences to complete. Assessment is mainly by practical work and report writing. The course is marked to allow Pass, Merit and Distinction grades and these are widely understood by universities and employers.
