Course programme
You will have an introduction to wildlfe and conservation work which includes looking for signs of our native wild animals and learning more about their lives, exploring and helping to create their habitats and learning how tro do practical countryside work such as fencing, making footpaths and tractor driving. You will also learn about the farm animals at our Taylor Hill site - pigs, hens, ducks, goats and sheep - and have opportunities to see the other more exotic species that are on the site.
Example of units covered:
- estate maintenance,
- introduction to the principles of land-based machinery,
- substitute farm animals and plants,
- conservation and improvements of British habitats.
