Course content:

Work experience complements the programme, providing students with the opportunity to work in a variety of Health and Social Care settings.

Assessment procedure:
A portfolio of six written assigments.

Entry requirements:
Students who would benefit most from BTEC First Diploma in Health & Social Care (Level 2) should have one or more of the following:-

- A standard of literacy and numeracy equivalent to GCSE
grades C - D
- A foundation level GNVQ
- Some related work experience

Progression opportunities:
Successful completion of the programme will enable progression to Certificate in Childcare and Education at Level 2, National Diploma/Certificate in Early Years, National Diploma/Certificate in Care, National Diploma in Health Studies or to seek employment.

Most full-time students do not have to pay for their course. We may also be able to help you with some of the extra costs associated with college, eg travel, childcare, equipment, books etc. In addition, if you have just left school, you may be eligible for an Educational Maintenance Allowance.
