About this course

This short course is suitable for those who wish to know about how to claim PIP (Personal Independence Payments) which has replaced DLA (DIsability Living Allowance). It will be useful for would-be claimants and anyone who supports such claimants in any capacity.

Course programme

How will I learn?

Your tutor will teach you by lecture/discussion. You will receive printed materials, with one-to-one help as appropriate. Your tutor will also introduce you to the support available on-line.

How will my progress be monitored and assessed?

Your knowledge will be assessed by means of simple tasks done in class.

Progression opportunities

A range of ICT courses allow you to build up your skills in using the Internet or other aspects of computer use. Confidence building courses are also possible. Your tutor will be able to advise you further.

What equipment or materials will I need to provide?

All materials for your course will be provided by your tutor, but please bring a pen and notepaper as you will probably find it useful to take extra notes.

What other support is available?

Help with numeracy or literacy is available. ICT drop-in sessions are available during term time and are open to all learners. Additional support can be provided for students with learning difficulties and/or disabilities. Learner Support Funding is available for equipment, childcare and travel to learners who qualify.
