Study Method:
There are various methods of study on this course that include classroom sessions, project work, discussion groups, practical work experience placements and visits.
Duration :One-year course. Full-time programme.
Who the Course is For:
Applications are welcomed from those who are considering careers working with children, the elderly or disabled. It is an initial qualification to lead you into following a career in the caring services.
Assessment:
You will produce a portfolio of work that is assessed by a range of methods, which may include projects, assignments, case studies and coursework.
Students are allocated a Personal Coach who will provide support and guidance at regular intervals during the course.
Course Leads To:
The BTEC First Diploma in Health and Social Care is equivalent to four GCSEs at grade A-C.
This qualification can help you to go onto a higher level qualification such as the BTEC National Certificate in Health and Social Care, CACHE Diploma in Childcare, A Levels or straight into work.
In order to progress to the BTEC National Certificate and Health and Social Care (Level 3) programme, students must achieve an overall Merit on the First Diploma course.
