About this course

Foundation GNVQ ICT, a relevant level 1 ICT qualification. GCSEs in English and Maths at grade D or above. There will also be an initial assessment and informal interview with a subject tutor.

Course Content:
This course consists of 2 compulsory units; Using ICT to Present Information and Introduction to Computer Systems. 5 further units are required to achieve the full diploma. These cover a range of IT skills related to the development of software for end-users. Sample modules to include; Website Development, Software Design and Development, Database Software, Spreadsheet Software, ICT Graphics.

Progression:
Successful students may progress onto a range of IT qualifications at level 3 or specialise in specific areas such as PC Maintenance and Support or Software Development at level 2.
