To enter this programme you will need at least one of the following:
· 4 GCSEs at grade D and above in individual subjects including Maths and or English
· Related industry experience
· Introductory Diploma in Hospitality, Travel and Tourism or other related level 1 qualification (merit) and Maths and/or English at grade D or equivalent

Course Content: This course has been designed to equip you with the knowledge and skills required to meet the needs of the modern day Travel Industry. You will gain this formal qualification through the completion of the following exciting and diverse range of units:
· The UK Travel and Tourism industry
· Exploring Customer Service in Travel and Tourism
· UK Travel and Tourism Destinations
· European Holiday Destinations
· Exploring Marketing in Travel and Tourism
· Business Skills for Travel and Tourism
Special Features: You will be assessed on your coursework throughout the year and some units of study will involve practical sessions based on role plays and videos.
The course provides students with an opportunity to develop skills, personal qualities and an attitude to succeed in working life!
You will go on several trips, where you will see first hand how functions work in industry. Trips include visits to Chester Zoo, where you will gain an insight into the running and staffing of the Zoo, MOSI, Alton Towers and Manchester Central. We do ask for a contribution to your educational trips of £80.00 which is payable at the beginning of term.
Progression: Once you have completed this course you will then be qualified to progress onto a Level 3 qualification in a related area, after an interview and if you achieve a Merit Grade overall.
