BTEC Introductory Certificates are intended as practical "hands on" programmes and are taught in the context of real jobs and careers in a vocational sector. This gives you the chance to explore the opportunities offered in that sector and to acquire appropriate vocational skills. The course is made up of four units. You will be studying the following two core units: Starting work in Health and Social Care Developing Skills in Health and Social Care You will take one of the following Personal Skills units: Personal Effectiveness Social Responsibility at Work Financial Management You will then take one of the following optional units: Either looking after children or Images of People.
