What will I study?
This course will cover a wide variety of activities that are designed to give students an understanding of the skills needed to work in the media industry. Students will study a number of practical and theoretical aspects of the media industry, including pre and post production as well as the actual practical processes of producing a media product such as a film.

How can I progress?
If students want to go straight into employment they could work in a range of careers including; Film, Video and TV Production, Animation, Graphic Design, or Photography. Students can also progress onto a higher education course in one of the following subject areas; Animation, Film and Television Studies, Photography, Screen Studies, Media & Digital Media.

Course Structure
In order to gain a full BTEC National Diploma in Media Moving Image these units will be studied; Students take four core units: *Understanding the Media, *Research Techniques#, *Media Skills Workshop#, *Professional Practice in the Media Industry. # These units contribute towards the externally assessed assignment. Students also take fourteen specialist units from the following subject areas: *Production Management and techniques, *Filming and camera work, *Video Editing, *Animation, *Writing for Television and Video, *Film and Television Studies. A final major project is undertaken in the second year of the course. All units are assessed and graded, and an overall grade for the qualification is awarded.
