1. Defined Scope
Part P Defined Scope is a qualification for engineers who carry out work on domestic electrical installations as a secondary task to their main role.
The course will cover the following areas:
- Applicable Building, Electrical & Safety Regulations
- Pre-work survey/inspection
- Safe isolation procedure
- Earthing & bonding requirements
- Electrical test procedures
- Cable components & fitting selection
- Installation & replacement of electrical components & fittings
- Recording of electrical test results, completion of certification and notification requirements
Assessment and Quality Assurance
The course and assessment cover all the 17 competence areas as listed in the guidance document.
