Business Administration Advanced Apprenticeship with optional routes
This course is aimed at those who are already working in a business environment and those who would like to having done so previously. Learners develop a more comprehensive range of business skills, including team supervision, project management, event organisation, managing information and data with analysis. This apprenticeship supports a variety of administration job roles in any industry e.g. executive assistants, secretaries, administration assistants, data entry clerks, finance, customer service, human resources, social media and marketing.
The course is aimed at students aged 16 and over who wish to complete a Business Administration Apprenticeship in any specific vocational area.
Who is the course for?
The course is aimed at students aged 16 and over who wish to complete an Advanced Apprenticeship and are involved in Administration as their primary work activity. They will have an understanding of complex administrative functions and activities and have the ability to carry out a comprehensive range of non-routine administrative tasks in a senior or supervisory role.

This is a practical course where students are expected to provide evidence through workplace activities and guided assignment work. In addition to this, 3 exams will be required.
What award will I achieve?
Diploma in Business Administration Level 3
What next?
Possible progression to a Level 4 or Management qualification.
What are the Entry Requirements
Candidates should be working in an administrative role, committed to study and be responsible for their own learning. It is necessary to attend an interview with the Work Based Learning team and to complete basic skills assessments in literacy and numeracy. You will be expected to have at least basic numeracy and literacy skills. Students must be employed in a suitable work placement providing administrative tasks in a supervisory or senior role, and have successfully completed a relevant level 2 qualification.
Attendance
One day per month (over a 15 week period), with one hour weekly online learning for the technical knowledge on the other weeks. Attendance is closely monitored by your tutor and your employer will be informed of any absence as excellent attendance is required in order to achieve the qualification. If functional skills are required you will be required to attend weekly until achieved the framework requirements.
Requirements in the workplace
- Students are required to be employed in a suitable work placement providing administrative tasks in a supervisory or senior role.
- Skilled and knowledgeable staff in placement
- Modern equipment and tools/machines to follow current practices in industry.

You can apply for both an apprenticeship, and a full-time course as your back up,
but note that you will need to do some research to find an employer willing to take you on as an apprentice
if you do not already have one.
