BCTS offers four levels of NVQ in Business Administration which stretch from a junior role qualification at Level One through to a senior qualification at Level Four.
•Level One - 2 mandatory units and 3 optional units
•Level Two - 2 mandatory units and 3 optional units
•Level Three - 2 mandatory units and 4 optional units
•Level Four - 6 mandatory units and 3 optional units
what does the course cover?
Our Administration Apprenticeship includes not only the NVQ in Administration, but also Key Skills and a Technical Certificate which provides a balanced programme and a full framework to the apprenticeship. The administration elements comprise:
•Level One
Effective team work, health and safety, routine documents, filing, enter data on computer, distribute mail.
•Level Two
Carrying out your responsibilities at work, working within a business environment, managing customer relations, dealing with visitors, using IT systems and programmes, organising business travel and accomodation, research and reports, processing financial information, using a telphone system, operating office equipment, preparing text from notes and shorthand, working effectively with other people
•Level Three
Carrying out your responsibilities at work, working within a business environment, managing diary systems, using IT software, supervising an office facility, procure products and services, manage the payroll function, monitor information systems, make a presentation, organise and coordinate events, preparing text from a variety of sources
•Level Four
Working relationships, develop and plan administration services, operational plans, develop own practise, support decision making, manage facilities, physical and financial resources, negotiate agreements for supplies, help plan resources, facilitate meetings, develop teams, recruitment, monitor compliance, control health and safety risks, prepare accounts, prepare reports
How will I be assessed?
Candidates are observed and assessed in the workplace by a trained assessor - usually someone senior to them in the workplace. Previous experience is also taken into account.
BCTS placement officers arrange interviews with suitable employers for learners not currently in a work placement or employment. Training officers will support you at every stage of your learning programme.
Skills for Life support is available on all BCTS training programmes.
BCTS mentor support is available for most categories of learners.
