Course programme
The BIIAB Profitable Business Portfolio is a professional development programme for experienced licensed retailers and key staff who want to improve their skills. Consisting of 13 units and covering all aspects of running a licensed hospitality operation, the BIIAB Profitable Business Portfolio delivers real business benefits, key to running a successful business.
Each unit is a stand-alone qualification and will be individually certificated. Each unit has been designed to be completed in one day supported by self-study, and candidates may take any or all units in whatever order they wish. However, the BIIAB Profitable Business Portfolio is a nationally accredited series of qualifications and on successful completion of specified units, candidates may achieve the following nationally recognised qualifications: the BIIAB Level 3 Advanced Certificate in Licensed Hospitality and the BIIAB Level 3 Diploma in Licensed Hospitality.
The BIIAB Profitable Business Portfolio consists of three core units and ten optional units. On successful completion of the three core units candidates will achieve the BIIAB Level 3 Advanced Certificate in Licensed Hospitality. Successful completion of an additional four of the ten optional units will lead to the achievement of the BIIAB Level 3 Diploma in Licensed Hospitality.
- Unit 1 Profit & loss and budget control
- Unit 2 Understanding your market
- Unit 3 Motivating your team
Candidates who go on to achieve these units and then go on to successfully complete four optional units will be awarded the BIIAB Level 3 Diploma in Licensed Hospitality. Candidates can choose these units from the following optional units:
- Unit 4 Customer service procedures
- Unit 5 Training design and delivery
- Unit 6 Sales promotions
- Unit 7 Business planning
- Unit 8 Merchandising and selling
- Unit 9 Introducing a new catering offer
- Unit 10 Capital equipment
- Unit 11 Stock control
- Unit 12 Improving your catering operation
- Unit 13 Recruitment and employment practice
- Unit 14 Accommodation control
The Course is designed to work with your own lifestyle and to fit in with your own work commitments.
For this reason the individual units are one day each but can be taken at your own speed subject to certain limitations. These dates, we try to fit in with other clients taking the same units but as there is such a range of units you may end up doing different units with different people. This will help with the cross pollination of ideas. We also will try to be as flexible as we possibly can.
