This course provides learners with the opportunity to fast track through level 2 and achieve a level 3 qualification within the year. This course is a bite-sized qualification that has been developed to recognise learners' understanding of administrative and customer service functions and activities. It accredits learners' abilities to carry out a range of administrative and customer service tasks autonomously and has been designed to accredit their achievements in a modern, practical way that is relevant to the work context. As part of the programme learners will also complete Essential Skills and undertake one day’s relevant work experience.  Opportunities will also be provided for GCSEs in English, Welsh and Mathematics.

About this course

4 GCSEs grade D or above or equivalent level 2 qualification.  Entry is dependent on a selection interview.  Entry for mature students without formal qualifications is at the discretion of the Curriculum Area.

Former students have gained employment as general and specialist administrators and personal assistants. They have found employment in banks, the media, legal practices, accountancy firms, health and local authorities and many other private and public organisations. Alternatively, students may be able to progress on to the Level 3 course in Business.

Additional information

The Administration (Business Professional) and Customer Service units on this course are internally assessed by lecturers and quality assurance personnel and externally moderated by OCR and BTEC.
