You will have the opportunity to arrange a year-long work placement in between your third and fourth years. We highly recommend a placement year as it helps your personal and professional development through real-world experience, and enhances your career prospects on graduation. Be it a local, national or international industrial placement, you get personal and pastoral support from your allocated tutor during your placement year.Previous students have taken placements with various organisations ranging from small and medium-sized enterprises to large multinational corporations including IBM, BMW, Boeing, DHL, Intel, Xerox, Bentley and Texas Instruments.

Prepare for the degree with an extra foundation year at the start.Learn the essential skills of business management and the role of IT.Increase your employability through industrial placements.Experience a strong sense of community and outreach through various student led social initiatives.

The course is suitable if you don’t meet the entry requirements for our BSc (Hons) Business and Information and Communications Technology course, or you want extra preparation before starting degree-level study. You share the first year with other computing foundation year students, then move on to the degree.

This must include at least one A level or equivalent BTEC qualifications. For example:CDD at A Level.MMP in BTEC Extended Diploma.A combination of qualifications, which may include AS levels, EPQ and general studies

You will develop a solid background in the commercial applications of technology and gain good general business skills, enabling you to pursue a broad choice of careers. You will be equipped with the knowledge to undertake professional accreditations such as PRINCE2 (Project Management) or ITIL (ServiceManagement).
