Business, Customer & Travel Services BTEC Diploma Level 2

The Business, Customer and Travel Services programme is designed to meet the needs of employers and to prepare students for the world of business, retail and travel. The programme aims to provide an education and vocational background for young people working to obtain a career in a range of jobs such as office administration, travel & tourism, financial services, customer service, sales and retailing, distribution and manufacturing. Emphasis is placed on key skills in a business context, such as Communication and Numeracy.

This combined business and travel programme provides the next step towards a career in the business, retail or travel sectors. You will learn specific skills to help you succeed in a variety of job roles including the travel and customer services, sales and retail, financial services and administration. This is a work-related qualification, reflecting the knowledge and understanding required by employers, taught via guided assignments, lectures, tutorials and live projects. You will also engage in GEM and GAP activities to develop your English, maths and employability skills.

Entry Requirements

Normally 4 GCSEs (grades A*-E), including English and maths, or satisfactory results in a relevant Level 1 qualification, and an interview.

Career Opportunities

This course offers access to a wide range of careers in business enabling individuals to progress into junior positions within areas such as finance, retailing, marketing and apprenticeships. Further career opportunities can be achieved by progression onto the higher level courses.

Course Progression

Progression to a BTEC Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma, Diploma or Extended Diploma in Business or Travel & Tourism at Colchester Institute or College at Braintree.

Applying for a Full-Time course

Our term starts the week commencing 5th September 2016,
however you may have different start dates depending on the course.
You will receive the details of your first day over the summer period,
