A Diploma in Business is a practical, work-related course. Students learn by completing projects and assignments that are based on realistic workplace situations, activities and demands.
It introduces learners to particular areas of employment and provides a good basis to go on to a more advanced work-related qualification.
Course Structure
The course is made up of a number of units: four core units provide a general foundation and the remaining are specialist units to introduce learners to particular topics in more depth.

- Consumer Relations in Business
- Visual Merchandising

- Business Enterprise
Essential skills are also undertaken in literacy, numeracy and Key Skills IT.
Qualification Aims
Upon successful completion of this qualification you may progress into employment. Alternatively, depending upon the grade you achieve, you could continue with your studies onto the Level3 BTEC Extended Diploma in Business.
Alternatively you may choose to apply for non-related Business Course.
Assessments/Examinations
Units are internally assessed and graded by teachers via a range of assessments such assignments, presentations, 1-2-1 discussions, group work, projects and observations. An overall grade for the qualification is awarded to all learners who successfully complete all units.
Grades awarded are Pass, Merit or Distinction.
Cost / Equipment
Tuition is free to all students under the age of 19 at the start of the course. If you are aged 19 25 and it is your first level 2 course tuition will be free.
If you are over 25 you will be required to pay tuition fees.
A£25 (non-refundable) contribution towards educational visits is required at the start of the course.
