Course Description
English has become an essential communication tool throughout the world. More and more organisations require their staff to be able to use English in their day- to- day jobs, and with business becoming ever more global, contacts with other organisations are increasingly held in the language.
It is highly practical, and identifies what the delegates need to do in their daily working lives, and then gives them the opportunity to practise, with language inputs from the trainer to help them get their message across with greater accuracy and clarity. It focuses strongly on improving delegates' listening comprehension skills to enable them to understand native speakers, and take part in meetings, telephone calls and negotiations with greater confidence.
Subjects covered include:
- social english: small talk, breaking the ice, and building rapport
- telephone skills: getting through, keeping control, exchanging
information clearly, getting your point across, persuading and negotiating - accuracy: key grammar areas, word order, structure
- meeting skills: chairing and attending round table meetings, the language of negotiation, persuading, influencing, convincing, managing conflict and keeping control
- presentation skills: structuring and signposting the presentation, using the language the audience will remember, central message, handling questions confidently, keeping control
- listening skills: identifying spoken sounds - contractions, schwa and elision. identifying key words, and building up understanding from what you hear. different speaking styles and accents
Duration: We would recommend a minimum of 3 days. This course is suitable for both groups and One-to-One.
