Business - Extended Diploma Level 3

Course Overview
The course will give you an excellent understanding of business practice and a broad knowledge of business-related skills. It is a vocational course which means it is based on practical content and real experiences of the business world.

Course Structure
The course is delivered over two years and consists of both mandatory and optional units that cover a variety of aspects with the business sector.

• Business Resources *
• Introduction to Marketing *
• Business Communication *
• Financial Forecasting for Business

• Recruitment & Selection in Business
• Training in the Business Workplace
• Understanding Retail
• Visual Merchandising in Retail
• Functional skills in English, Maths and ICT are compulsory if a student has not achieved a C grade or higher at GCSE.

Qualification Aims
BTEC Extended Diploma in Business

Upon successful completion you may progress on to higher education or study for professional qualifications in Colleges or Universities. Alternatively the qualification will allow entry into employment within the public, private or voluntary sectors in a wide range of jobs in accountancy, human resources, sales and marketing, and administration. There will also be opportunities for further learning within employment to enable progression to middle/senior management positions in industry, commerce or the public sector.

Assessments/Examinations
A range of assessment methods are used including assignments, case studies, projects, 1-2-1 discussions, group work, presentations and coursework.

Grades awarded are Pass, Merit or Distinction.

Cost / Equipment
Tuition is free to all students under the age of 19 at the start of the course. If you are aged 19 - 25 - and it is your first level 3 course - tuition will be free.
If you are over 25 you will be required to pay tuition fees.

A£25 (non-refundable) contribution towards educational visits is required at the start of the course.
