Course Overview
It has long been recognised that UK productivity lags behind peers in the USA and in Western Europe. The tough climate that manufacturing has faced in recent years has served to place added emphasis on the need to boost productivity and competitiveness and is something that is constantly on the agenda of the UK government.

This level 2 Certificate is a Vocationally Related Qualification (VRQ) accredited by EMTA Awards Ltd (EAL) and focuses on knowledge and understanding of lean manufacturing principles using practical skills where appropriate. This ensures that on completion, in addition to knowledge, the candidate has gained some practical experience and has an expectation for situations that they could face in a job role involving business improvement activities.

The knowledge gained in this qualification also ensures that candidates are better prepared for the underpinning knowledge requirements of the Business Improvement Techniques NVQ and will help more candidates access the NVQ, which has huge potential benefits for employers across all sectors - not just manufacturing.
