Exploring Business Activity Looking at a range of business activities, strategic aims and objectives, and planning for survival and growth.
Investigating Business Resources Are you cut out to be a manager? In this unit you will examine the role of a manager, as well as analysing David Brent's skills from the popular TV show'The Office'. You will also look at how resources within the business are managed (financial and technological).
Introduction to Marketing Here you will be looking at how businesses aim to meet the need of customers via the use of marketing.
Effective People, Communication and Information In this unit we look at how people are selected for employment, and how presentation and communication have to be effective in order for a business to be successful.
Exploring Creative Product Promotion This unit involves designing a promotional campaign for a product of your choice. You will also gain an understanding of promotion and the role of advertising agencies.
Introduction to Market Research You will look at the purpose of market research, and planning and carrying out your own research.
Investigating Recruitment and Selection This unit gives you the knowledge and skills to use human resource techniques and practices effectively in relation to recruitment and selection of staff.
Understanding Health and Safety in the Workplace You will investigate current Health and Safety legislation and the impact it has on businesses and key personnel within the business.
Introduction to the Internet and E-Business This unit involves examining the operation of facilities available via the Internet, and the increasing popularity of e-business.
Managing a Business Event For this unit you will be involved in planning your own event with a team of people, and understanding the roles of individuals within the team.
Starting a Small Business You will be coming up with ideas for your own business, the financial implications and a business proposal.
Understanding Retailing You will be investigating your favourite supermarket or department store, whilst looking at structures, sales and distribution within the retail sector.Units are assessed through coursework only.
