No matter where you work or what you do, business studies will be relevant. The knowledge and skills gained on this course will be useful for the rest of your life. You will learn how businesses plan and organise their activities, how they motivate employees and how they make profits. You start with understanding how a business works in terms of marketing, finance, people management and production management. Following this you gain understanding of how these combine in order for the business to meet its objectives, and how external factors such as pressure groups or a recession affect this. Assessment is through external exams. Students benefit from visiting speakers and visits to companies in this country and abroad. This popular course boasts an impressive success record with most students going on to study a business-related course at university.
