2. Course description This course will encourage you to develop a critical understanding of business organisations the context in which they operate and the markets they serve. AS has two mandatory modules in the first year:Unit 1 Planning and Financing a Business includes:- Planning a business in terms of motives for setting up a business.- How a business start-up is finance.- Sources of finance- Enterpise and entrepreneurs- Break even Unit 2 Managing a Business includes:- Increasing profits.- Recruiting and managing employees.- Operations management (Customer Service & Technology).- Marketing.

3. Entry requirements Five or more GCSEs at grade C or above including English and Maths. You also need to have achieved at least one GCSE grade B. Also subject to QCA score. 4. Equipment required No equipment required 5. Assessment method There are two written examinations in the summer. There is no coursework in the A Level Business Studies course.
