Business Studies

In both years you will study the key areas that businesses need to understand, e.g. marketing, accounts, operations management, people, objectives and strategy, as well as the many external factors affecting business.
At AS you will learn the principles behind each part of a business and look at companies and products that you think you know and maybe find out the truth!
In the second year the emphasis changes. Learning strategic planning and business decision-making will help you think about the impact decisions have on everything else. Find out if you're up to it, enjoy the power of running the business!
ENTRY RECOMMENDATIONS:
Grade C or above in English and Maths. No previous knowledge of business is required.
ASSESSMENT:
Written exams.
PROGRESSION:
Business management, operations management, management accounting, human resource management and marketing. Highly regarded as a basis for all university business and management degree courses and as a good supporting A level for other degrees.
Companies, public services and charities readily recruit people with Business Studies backgrounds and qualifications.
