Entry RequirementsThere are no formal entry requirements for this course, only an interest in fabrication and welding.
Course Content
Students are taught both practical fabrication and welding skills, together with associated theoretical knowledge.The course consists of 6 units:-
3 Mandatory units

·Working safely
·Developing yourself and working with others
·Using and communicating technical information.

1 Support unit

·Marking out for engineering activities.

2 Skill units

·Producing sheetmetal components and assemblies
·Joining materials by welding.

How will I be assessed?
The course is assessed by a series of practical qualifying tasks. Each task is undertaken after a period of training and consolidation. Students are required to combine a portfolio of evidence which is submitted for verification.
Upon successful completion of the course students are awarded a certificate issued by City and Guilds.

What can I do next?
On completion of the PEO Level 2 course, students may choose to progress with further welding skill modules, welder approvals or welding and fabrication City and Guilds Level 3 2800 modules.
