Course Programme

The Electrician Course covers all aspects of domestic electrical installations, fault finding and maintenance.

Our electrical course programme is split into two parts; theory training on the understanding of electrical installations for your 17th Edition Wiring Regulations award, and practical training to provide you with all your necessary hands on skills.

The electrician course will consist of six weeks intensive training, Monday - Friday.

The course will start at 8.30am and finish at 5.00pm.

The RF Training Electrical Course will lead to:

  • City and Guilds 2382, 17th Edition Wiring Regulations Award
  • PAT Testing - City & guilds 2377 Level 3
  • Building Regulations - City & Guilds 2393 Level 3
  • Logic Full Scope Part P Level A Award
  • RF Training Electrical Installation Certificate

What does the Electrician Course cover?

Carrying out new electrical installations from 17th Edition compliant consumer unit

  • Install Ring Final Socket Circuit
  • Chasing out walls for cable installation to include plaster to block finish and plaster board
  • Making good to building finish standard
  • Working out cable size and length to include voltage drop for new ring and radial circuits
  • Install New lighting circuit
  • Install two way light switching
  • Install down lights
  • Install electric cooker circuit
  • Install showers circuit
  • Forming a steel wired armoured SWA cable connection
  • Completion of Part P Full Scope Level A award
  • Completion of 17th Edition Wiring Regulations

Electrical Course Schedule

The Electrical Training Course consists of both practical and theory lessons.

The theory lessons will consist of classroom based sessions with information on the above work, and the following;

  • Health & Safety
  • Use of hand and power tools
  • Basic electrical installations Parts 1 and 2
  • Basic plumbing systems for electricians
  • Basic heating systems for electricians
  • Legislation and Building Regulations
  • 17th Edition Wiring Regulations
  • Electrical Inspection and Testing
  • Completion of Electrical Certificates
  • Routing of cables
