This course is designed for students who are already working with children either in a supervised or unsupervised role. The qualification is for those who wish to work in a supervisory role.

At least a Level 2 childcare qualification or relevant work experience.
What you will be studying
This Level 3 course consists of six units; three compulsory and three options. To gain the Diploma you are required to complete and pass core units 1, 2, 3 and one optional unit at pass level or above.
Core Unit 1 Understanding and Promoting the Development of Pre-School Children
Core Unit 2 Providing Learning Communities for Pre-School Children and their Families
Core Unit 3 Making the Pre-School Setting a Supportive and Safe Environment
Optional Unit 1 Working to supporting parents with, numeracy and language needs in a Pre-School setting
Optional Unit 2 Working with children with disabilities and special educational needs and their families In a Pre- School setting
Optional Unit 3 Working in a parent managed Pre-School setting
How you will be assessed on the course
You will be required to do one assignment for each unit. You will be given a deadline for each assignment.
Will I Receive Support?
Basic skills are embedded into the course. Your tutor will also cover study skills such as report writing, note taking, research skills and reading skills. Ultimately, you are also expected to study independently, but your tutor will assist you where possible.
