About this course
This learning programme is a knowledge-based qualification that aims to strengthen and expand your existing knowledge of health and social care. At the same time, the skills you’ll acquire will enable you to function more efficiently within this career field, so you’ll always supply a high standard of quality care.
To gain this Level 2 qualification in Common Health Conditions, you will need to submit a written portfolio of evidence containing all completed activities from each unit. With 6 assignments to complete (1 task per unit), each written task comes in the form of an essay question and is designed to test your knowledge and understanding of the syllabus. These will be assessed by your tutor whereupon they will mark, feedback and sign off each completed unit.

Course programme
This course assesses the following units:
- Unit 1 – Understand how to contribute to monitoring the health of individuals affected by health conditions (2 credits)
- Unit 2 – Introductory awareness of sensory loss (2 credits)
- Unit 3 – Stroke awareness (3 credits)
- Unit 4 – Arthritis awareness (3 credits)
- Unit 5 – Dementia awareness (2 credits)
- Unit 6 – Parkinson’s disease awareness (3 credits)
Assessment
To pass this course learners must submit a portfolio of evidence containing all of the completed activities pertaining to each unit. These activities are designed to test your knowledge of the course syllabus, encouraging you to produce essay-style responses to its questions. Upon submission, they will be assessed by your tutor who will mark, feedback and supply you with an array of helpful tips that can assist you on future assignments.
