Calligraphy for Beginners
Come and discover the creativity and skill of traditional calligraphy. Newcomers especially welcome. For the first session, students should bring an HB pencil and some paper (any sort will do).
What does the course involve?
Using traditional tools and media, a structured, though flexible, programme works through the main lettering styles, at a pace to suit each student.
What will I study?
One calligraphic style and/or theme is studied each term, and an optional papercraft project can be completed. Colour is also explored.

Which level course should I attend?
The Beginners class is aimed at people with little or no experience of calligraphy, although some more experienced people choose to come to this class as the timing fits better into their timetable.

You don't need to be. Calligraphy is for people with an interest in lettering and who want to add a creative dimension to their experience.
What will I need for the first class?
You need only bring an HB pencil and some white or cream paper (any sort will do) about A4 size or larger.
