During this course you will learn how to use basic calligraphy tools and techniques to create the letterforms of the
gothic script. Starting from writing exercises you will progress to write the gothic alphabet and will be encouraged to
develop your own creative response to this historic letterform.

You will be taught through group teaching and one-to-one tuition. No additional work outside class is necessary. All equipment for this course is provided. Please bring a notebook and a pen for taking notes. Once completed, you could progress to calligraphy course covering a more broad range of scripts such as; VE246 Calligraphy for beginners; VE225 Calligraphy and illumination or VE227 Calligraphy,in the main programme. Your tutor will be happy to advise you during the course.
