About this course
Ideally you should have a standard of English equivalent to Level B1 of the Council of Europe's Common European Framework.

Course programme
The TKT is a test of knowledge about teaching English to speakers of other language. It consists of three modules as follows:
- Module 1 looks at language and the background to language learning and teaching.
- Module 2 covers lesson planning and the use of resources for language teaching.
- Module 3 looks at managing the teaching and learning process.
Our intensive TKT courses run for 2 weeks with 20 lessons on teaching methodology, followed by 10 lessons of guided self-study to prepare for the test. The methodology sessions cover the following areas:
Module One:
- Describing language and language skills
- Background to language learning.
- Background to language teaching.
Module Two:
- Planning and preparing a lesson or sequence of lessons.
- Selection and use of resources.
Module Three:
- Teachers' and learners' language in the classroom.
- Classroom management .
The tests are taken at the end of the course and candidates will be graded for each module taken. You will be awarded a grade between Band 1 and Band 4.
