Description of the Course
There will be a short review of the Gas regulations and the duties of the emergency provider. Appreciation of gas appliances and meters.
Duties and responsibilities of Gas Safe Engineers
The course will train you to a level of competence needed to carryout successful performance analysis using electronic combustion testing equipment, in accordance with the current standards. This will include instruction and guidance on the application and use of suitable sampling probes. The Importance of correct Ventilation for open and flue less gas burning appliances. New gas cooker regulations for flats and multi occupancy dwellings.
How to carryout safely and effectively a room/building sweep to trace the source of Carbon Monoxide within the room/building and how to visually identify dangerous gas burning appliances. Gas escapes notifications.
Who and how to report a dangerous occurrence in a domestic dwelling and basic safety measures when finding/reporting and incidence of CO.
You will be trained using Gas Analysing equipment and a range of domestic gas fired appliance.
Course content
Assessment
You will be required to carry out a combustion performance analysis on open flue flued, room sealed and a flueless gas appliance to confirm that they are operating in a safe or unsafe manner.
You will also be required to carryout and explain the method of conducting and room/building sweep for CO.
Who is the course for?
All persons who will come into contact with residents of buildings where Natural Gas burning appliances are used, particularly the elderly and vulnerable.
