About this course
A minimum of 4 GCSE's at grade E or above (including English or Maths). Pass construction skills industry training board skills learning exercise. Attend IAG interview with student services.

Who is the course for?
The course is designed for students who have a keen interest in Carpentry and Joinery and the Construction industry.
What is the course about?
The course will cover a variety of tasks both practical and theory, and will cover the following topics:
Handling and Storing resources.
Communication
Working Platforms
Maintenance and use of woodworking
Using portable power tools
Basic wood jointing techniques
Will I need anything else?
Safety boots and overalls must be worn in workshop sessions
Pens,pencils and a ring binder file
Tools will be provided during practical sessions
How long & often do I attend?
The course starts week beginning 17th September 2009 and runs for 16 hourse per week for 36 weeks.
Minimum Attendance is 90%.
How will I be assessed?
Completion of practical tasks assessed by your tutor, the production of a portfolio and pass onlin Gola exams.
What opportunities will this lead to?
Level 2 Carpentry and Joinery Construction Diploma or employment in the industry as an Apprentice.
