Carpentry & Joinery NVQ Level II (subject to employment status

This two year course provides the skills, training and underpinning knowledge you need to become recognised as a carpenter. The NVQ is made up of six units which together demonstrate you have reached the standards set out by the industry to become a carpenter. Study areas include construction methods, site work, joinery and using power hand tools
Entry RequirementsNo formal qualifications are required but you will be asked to attend an interview.
All candidates must be employed or self employed as a Carpenter/Joiner or an apprentice. Must be willing to attend College on day release basis.
Course Content
Site or Bench Joinery options. Practical and underpinning knowledge, and possibly key skills.
Unit based qualification covering full range of disciplines - access platforms to first/second fix.
How will I be assessed?
Assessment is ongoing and is both work based/college based using work record diary and individual portfolio of evidence, assignments, question papers and practical assignments, plus health and safety tests.
