This two year course provides the skills, training and underpinning knowledge you need to become recognised as a carpenter. The NVQ is made up of six units which together demonstrate you have reached the standards set out by the industry to become a carpenter. Study areas include construction methods, site work, joinery and using power hand tools.

All candidates must be employed or self employed as a Carpenter/Joiner or an apprentice. Must be willing to attend College on day release basis.

Unit based qualification covering full range of disciplines - access platforms to first/second fix.
How will I be assessed?
Assessment is ongoing and is both work based/college based using work record diary and individual portfolio of evidence, assignments, question papers and practical assignments, plus health and safety tests.
