Introduction:
Getting on in Work need to update your skills in CCTV. This course offers you both theory and hands-on practical tuition

Study Mode & Location:
This 3 day course will be held at Preston College, Fulwood Campus, St Vincent`s Road, Preston, PR2 8UR.

Course Content:
During this course you will study:

• Basic theory of TV/CCTV
• Foundations of digital and IP
• Basic electronics
• Setting up monochrome and colour monitors
• Setting up, back focusing and zoom tracking cameras
• Selecting and applying appropriate lenses and filters
• Different lighting parameters for CCTV cameras
• Practical calculations and operational requirements
• Video and data storage media
• Setting up tape and digital video recorders
• Selecting, connecting and installing cables
• Multiplexing, quads and video switchers
• Use of oscilloscopes, bar generators etc
• Commissioning, fault finding and routine maintenance
• Applying British and European Standards
• Health and Safety
• Basic legal considerations for CCTV

Assessment:
Assessment will be practical.

You may need to have an informal interview with a Adult Admissions Adviser before enrolling on this course.
Many courses have limited places so please enquire as soon as possible. Following interview, the earliest you may enrol is mid-June.
